Bosque del Apache

Landscape / Livestock

The Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge is one of my favorite places to view wildlife.  Established in 1939, it has a long history of providing a safe haven to local and migrating wildlife.  The diversity of this refuge is very unique in the United States, from rodents to elk and from humming birds to bald eagles.  All capable of being seen from your own vehicle while driving the different loop roads.  You won’t see them all in one visit, but odds are that you will not come away disappointed with what you do see at any time of the year.
